The City of Quincy is working closely with National Grid to ensure you benefit from the utility’s many efficiency programs. These programs provide easy ways for you to save energy and money.

If you are a homeowner, the first step is to sign up for a no-cost Energy Assessment. When you get an assessment, a well trained energy advisor comes to your home and assesses where energy improvements can be made. The advisor will focus on weatherization (air leakage and insulation), mechanical systems (air conditioning, heating system, hot water), major appliances, and lighting. Consequently, access to all areas of the building will be required on the day of your assessment. A typical assessment takes between 1 ½ – 3 hours to complete.

At the end of your Energy Assessment, your energy advisor will provide you with information on any available rebates or other incentives from National Grid as well as available financing offers for the recommended energy efficiency improvements.

Please note: If you own a condominium in a building with 5 or more units, you will need the approval of your condominium association. Please call 1-800-594-7277 to determine eligibility and to schedule an appointment with an energy advisor.

Renters are also eligible, with your landlord’s consent. If you rent in a building with 5 or more units, please call 1-800-594-7277. More information is available on National Grid’s site.

Businesses can enjoy energy savings, too. National Grid can reduce your company’s energy costs with efficiency programs that target your specific needs. Small businesses interested in a no-cost Energy Assessment may call 1-800-332-3333 or fill out this form. Remember to mention Energy Smart Quincy, if you call.

Mid-sized and large businesses are also eligible for multiple incentives. More information is available on National Grid's site. You can also call your National Grid representative at 1-800-787-1706.
